Jessica’s Story

See how Jessica and her baby were saved from homelessness by people like you!

From Foster Care to Homelessness:

Jessica grew up in the foster care system. For 11 years, she lived with a family who made her feel like she was one of their own.

But when Jessica shared the news that she was expecting her first child, her family told her she was no longer welcome in their home.

Jessica was devastated.

This was the only stability she had ever had. And in a blink of an eye, it was all gone.

She was homeless. She had nowhere to turn. She felt so alone. For six long months she spent most of her nights sleeping in a parking structure — while pregnant.

But she was determined.

Jessica’s Path to Hope and Housing:

Just days before giving birth, Jessica found the support she needed at Pathways. This allowed her to bring her son into this world with a safe, warm place to call home.

Today Jessica is busy being a new mother to a healthy, happy, two-month-old baby boy. She is enrolled as a full-time nursing student, and with the support of her dedicated Case Manager, she is on track to secure a home of her very own!
