How can we give hope to people in need?
When Kids Ask the Tough Questions
Many of you reading this have never been homeless. But most of us who have never been homeless learned about homelessness as children. As kids, we saw homeless people on the street and we asked our parents, “Why don’t they have homes?” Maybe we also asked, “How can we help them?”
Pathways of Hope wants to show our children and our community that we all have the power to end hunger and homelessness. We invite you to join us for Take a Stand: The Lemonade Project, a summer-long quest to work together and make the world a better place for our neighbors in need.
It all started in 2014, when young Sophia walked into Pathways of Hope’s offices with an envelope full of coins and dollar bills. Sophia wanted to make a difference, so she convinced her parents to let her sell lemonade to raise funds for an organization helping people in need.
Sophia chose to donate her fundraiser’s proceeds to Pathways of Hope. Her hard work and generosity inspired our staff so much that in the summer of 2015 we launched Take a Stand: The Lemonade Project. Today, we are excited to invite you and your family to join us for our third annual summer of ending hunger and homelessness!
Pathways of Hope invites you to make a difference by hosting your own creative fundraiser with family and friends, Memorial Day through Labor Day. This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 to rebuild the lives of the hungry and homeless! But we can’t do it without you.
